"When the roots run deep there is no need to fear the wind."
Deeply Rooted is a home school co-op serving southern Johnson County, Brown County, & surrounding areas. We exist primarily to create a community of families who support each other in the education and development of our children.

We are on a mission to:
(1) Equip parents with the confidence and network they need for a successful home education experience.
(2) Develop a strong foundation for our kiddos in both knowing and following Christ.
(3) Create an environment where we encourage a heart of service and growth of character in addition to academic excellence.
(4) Forge a social network for our children to be able to experience play, learning, teamwork, & build relationships, with like minded peer groups.
(5) Collaborate with other families and local professionals to bring high quality curriculum and educational experiences to our children.
Co-Op Details:

The
Basics
When/What: We have a group that meets for "classroom and curriculum" on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-12:15. I currently have an early elementary room and a pre-school room. This group will utilize unit studies from The Good And The Beautiful for classroom/group education.
We are expanding our reach to include a "Fun school Day" on Thursdays from 11:30-2:30. This option allows us to serve, reach, support, & fellowship with MANY more students and families! This program will consist of mini group activities in a variety of forms and subject matters combined with ample time for free play and exploration. This is a great option for families seeking community, support, and opportunity to receive mini structured activities and lessons.

Where: Co-op will meet at the Shepherd of the Hills Church in Morgantown, IN

What: We are a home school cooperative group that meets weekly to help with resources, accountability, and group education of our children.

Who: Anyone is welcome but we are Christian based and will incorporate biblical teachings and ideologies throughout.

Program Fees
Fees:
-
Each family will be expected to pay an activity/supplies fee per semester. This fee will be used to provide all art supplies, science experiment supplies, prize cart items, and classroom manipulative/games/puzzles etc. This fee is due by the first meeting date of the semester and should be paid via paypal, cash, or check (payable to: Deeply Rooted).
-
Tues/Thurs families = $40 for first child + $20 for each additional child.
-
Thursday only families = $30 for first child + $15 for each additional child.
-
-
Each family will share the cost of the semester facility use fee, paid to Shepherd of the Hills. The $800 semester fee will be divided among all families registered for the co-op each semester. This fee will be finalized based on total enrollment the first week of class and is due by mid term. (March 15th)
-
(My current estimation based on expected registration will be: $120/family for the Tues/Thurs families and $40/family for the Thur only families.)
-
-
As always, weekly programming is offered at no cost. Tuesday classroom teachers as well as SOTH staff or parents who provide stations/activities during FunSchool, all do so on a volunteer basis.
-
I will offer 2-4 OPTIONAL field trip opportunities throughout the semester. Fees for these trips will be posted as early as possible and sign up sheets for anyone who chooses to join these will be available weeks prior.
-
***ALL fees are considered non-refundable. Should you opt to forfeit your position within the co-op mid-semester, you also forfeit your supplies fee. Should you fail to attend a field trip once the ticket/cost is submitted, you will not be eligible for a refund, as you have likely been considered in the head count towards minimum participant numbers.

Cirriculum & Schedule
We will be using (primarily) The Good And The Beautiful for our unit studies curriculum. This is a thorough, all inclusive, literature rich, and Christian based curriculum that is extremely affordable. This curriculum will provide the lessons for our family learning style subjects including science, history, and health as this company formats these subjects to be usable with a wide range of ages, offering supplemental resources for your older children. I personally will also be using The Good and the Beautiful curriculum for my sons core subjects of math and language arts and can mentor and encourage you and your family if you choose to also use TGATB for your core subjects as well.
Check it out! It’s a rather impressive curriculum. Especially if your overwhelmed at this point in your journey. Keep it simple! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Meet the Teachers

Director & Elementary Room
Tracey Wade
Hello! My name is Tracey Wade and I am the founder/director of the co-op in our area called, Deeply Rooted. I am a wife to Bruce, step-mama to two beautiful girls, Layla (17) and Aubree (13), and mama to Jackson, my 5 year old son. I am a Christian, saved by grace. A country girl- in love with simple living, back roads, old barns, good music, coffee, books, and deep conversation. I am saddened by the state of our society and especially our education system. I worry about the exposure to radical ideologies and indoctrination that our children are facing and I despise the infiltration of immorality in our schools and classrooms. It is for these reasons, my husband and I have opted to home school our son and why I felt led to begin this community.

Prior to being a full time stay at home mama- I worked as a behavior coach for Special Services of Johnson County Schools in elementary classrooms across the county for six years. I was the lead pre-k teacher for La Petite Academy for two years, a substitute teacher for Indian Creek Schools in grades k-12 for three years, and a dance and gymnastics studio owner/director and primary instructor for 10 years. I currently volunteer as a Sunday school teacher for pre-school aged students at Fair Haven Church.

In addition to my extensive background with children of all ages, in a variety of classroom settings, I also home schooled my step daughter in grades 1 and 2. My experience with homeschooling our daughter was incredible!!! I not only gained the confidence I needed to know that I AM absolutely capable of educating my children but it also allowed me to see the incredible opportunity awaiting kids and families alike if they only choose to open the door!

Homeschooling is overwhelming, intimidating, and downright scary. Especially in the beginning. I promise you that it is manageable and even magical, once you jump in and just get started…and even more so with a network and community. I could not have done it without our co-op and I hope to find families that are seeking to create the same kind of community, with kiddos in the same age range, who can begin to build a foundational peer group for their school careers.

Thanks for checking out the info on my group page and about me. Keep reading. Let me know if you have questions or are interested in being a part of Deeply Rooted.
Sincerely ,
Tracey

Pre-school Room
Makenzie Lynch
Hello! My name is Makenzie Lynch - or Miss Kenzie for the kiddos! I am 25, a wife & a mama of 2 sweet girls. I love to travel, be outside, and anything with fur.
I went to WGU online for my associates degree in elementary education when I was 20 years old. I finished all the book work and stopped at my student teaching when I had our first daughter. Since that time, I have been an elementary substitute teacher and a special needs paraprofessional for BCS and I taught my own preschool room in Alaska for 2 years.
My husband was in the Army and stationed at Fort Wainwright for 3 years before we moved back home to Trafalgar area.
My love for children runs very deep. Growing up, my whole family was, and still is, involved with working for public school systems. When the time came, I decided I wanted to homeschool which landed me here, at Deeply Rooted Co-op. I am so excited to have my own classroom again and meet new little ones! I am looking forward to a fun filled year.
